In April 2016, Hope for Kasai visited Sunset Elementary School in Miami. The team shared the story of children in Kasai — their daily challenges, their resilience, and how small acts of generosity from Miami were making a real difference in their lives.
The presentation resonated deeply with the students. Many were the same age as the children in Kasai, which made the connection immediate and personal. The questions they asked showed genuine curiosity and empathy: What do the kids eat? Do they have toys? Do they go to school every day?
The visit planted a seed — and it quickly grew. Sunset Elementary went on to organize a donation drive that brought supplies and support to Kasai. Proof that generosity has no minimum age.
