In June 2016, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy organized a school supplies collection for the children of Kabata School in Kasai. Students brought in notebooks, pencils, colored pencils, and other learning materials to be packed and sent with the next mission team.
The drive was organized as part of a broader effort to build awareness among students about global education inequality — and to give them a concrete way to help. The response was generous and enthusiastic.
For the children of Kasai who received these supplies, each item represents something meaningful: the chance to write, to draw, to learn. And the knowledge that students just like them, thousands of miles away, wanted them to have it.
