In October 2016, the French Club at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy (OLLA) took their support for Hope for Kasai one step further: they sponsored a girl's education for an entire school year.
In Kasai, school fees are one of the primary barriers keeping children — especially girls — out of school. A family facing extreme poverty has to make impossible choices. When someone else covers those fees, a child can keep learning.
The OLLA French Club raised enough to sponsor a full year of education for one girl. They received updates on her progress, learned her name, and followed her story. It transformed abstract generosity into a real, personal connection — and gave a young girl in Kasai the chance she deserved.
